Most Commercial Buses come with a
Dead bolt
or a
Air Operated Door & Lock .
As good and strong as it is,...
It's still not as convenient as a RV styled lock mounted in your Door .
If you want to convert your Bus to a RV lock you need to be aware that
Buses have a 2" door thickness,
No standard RV Lock is designed for this thickness..
However an Automotive RV
Lock design will work and it's safer and stronger.

This design is stronger and safer
It has a stronger locking mechanism than a RV lock and it does not matter
how thick the door is .
It is
connected remotely with cables or rods as in your automobile. It does not matter how thick the door is,..
you can install your inside
latch in many potential locations
Rubber sealant will be trimmed when cured

Electronic remote unlocking ( as in your car)
 
Optional inside
Stainless steel door pull.
These doors have heavy rubber seals. Sometimes it helps to pull in on them to
lock the dead bolt.This handle helps

In order for this model to work we must design and build an inset box as shown
below .
Some people use modified standard RV locks as below .
This style can only fit a certain thickness door.. most buses have 2"+ doors ..

A standard RV lock will not work properly .
Welding a reinforced plate for the New Heavy RV Style lock
   
Later this stainless steel plate will be ground down and
polished .
