The EAGLE’S NEST IS A 40 FT EAGLE BUS, ORIGINALLY OWNED BY TRAIL WAYS CORP.   
THE CONVERSION BEGAN WITH THE “REMOVAL” OF ALL THE SKINS, WINDOWS, WALLS, FLOORS, RUNNING GEAR,
ENGINE, TRANSMISSION, ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS AND THE ENTIRE INTERIOR.  

 IT IS NOT A PRODUCTION-LINE PRODUCT.  RATHER, IT WAS INDIVIDUALLY DESIGNED AND CUSTOM MADE
THE PROFESSIONAL CONVERSION WAS COMPLETED IN 1990.  

ITS’ MANY INNOVATIVE FEATURES AND AWARD-WINNING PRESENTATION HAVE ATTRACTED THE ATTENTION OF NEWSPAPER &
MAGAZINE WRITERS IN SEVERAL CITIES, WHO HAVE WRITTEN ABOUT IT.  IT ALSO HAS BEEN SELECTED AS “PEOPLES CHOICE”
AT RV RALLIES AND WITH EAGLET) HAS BEEN REQUESTED TO PARTICIPATE IN PARADES.

DURING CONVERSION, THE BUS ROOF WAS RAISED 10” AND ALL ORIGINAL WIRING ANDFUSES WERE REPLACED WITH NEW
WIRE AND AUTOMATICALLY RE-SETTING CIRCUIT BREAKERS AND RELAYS.

THE CHASSIS AND STEEL FRAMES WERE PAINTED AND TREATED FOR RUST PREVENTION.  THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WAS
RAISED AND A “NEW” EAGLE-10 CAP AND EYEBROW WERE INSTALLED.  THE INTERIOR WAS COMPLETELY INSULATED WITH
FOAM AND SCRIM-RE-ENFORCED “METALIZED MYLAR.”  THE INSULATED INTERIOR WALLS WERE ENCLOSED WITH PLYWOOD. 
THE FLOOR WAS REBUILT WITH THE INSTALLATION OF 1 INCH T&G PLYWOOD; THEN, ¾” PLYWOOD WAS OVERLAID. 
THIS LAYER WAS ROUTED-OUT TO ACCEPT THE PLUMBING FOR THE”HOT WATER HEATING SYSTEM.”  THE LAST LAYER
WAS ¼” PLYWOOD AND FINISHED OUT WITH CARPET & PAD (LIVING-ROOM, HALL, & BEDROOM) ¾” SOLID HARDWOOD (
KITCHEN) AND CERAMIC TILE (BATH).

THE ORIGINAL FACTORY “EAGLE HEAD” CASTINGS, WHICH COLLECTORS SEEK, WERE REMOVED FROM THE SIDE OF THE
BUS AND TRANSFERRED TO THE PRESTIGIOUS FORWARD CORNERS OF THE BUS.  CUSTOM STAINLESS STEEL
“LIGHTING BOLT” DECORATIONS WERE CRAFTED AND INSTALLED IN PLACE OF THE ORIGINAL “EAGLE’S TAILS.”
CUSTOM ALUMINUM FENDERS WERE CRAFTED AND INSTALLED.  THE ORIGINAL STEEL BUS WHEELS
WERE REPLACED WITH “ALCOA ALUMINUM WHEELS.”

THE ORIGINAL BUS BUMPERS WERE REPLACED WITH “CUSTOM FABRICATED” CHROME-PLATED STEEL BUMPERS&
FEATURE FOG LIGHTS AND NGENIOUS CURB LIGHTS AND HEADLIGHTS DEVELOPED BY GENERAL MOTORS.  ALL REAR
LIGHTS AND RUNNING LIGHTS HAVE BEEN UPDATED.  FOUR BRIGHT “DOCKING SPOT-LIGHTS,”  LOCATED ON EACH SIDE OF
THE COACH, PROVIDE VISIBILITY & (MOST IMPORTANTLY) SECURITY AT CAMPSITES.
THESE LIGHTS ARE CONTROLLED FROM DRIVER’S COMPARTMENT AS WELL AS AT THE MASTER BED.  ADDITIONAL
LIGHTING IS PROVIDED BY A REMOTE-CONTROLLED ONE-MILLION-CANDLE-POWER SPOT LIGHT, WHICH IS LOCATED ABOVE
THE FRONT CAP.  ALL WINDOWS ARE TINTED/SCREENED. A LARGE ‘‘A& E” AWNING COVERS LIVING -ROOM & KITCHEN AREA
ON THE ENTRY SIDE.  INDIVIDUAL AWNINGS AREINSTALLED AT ALL OTHER WINDOWS.

“RAMCO” SIDE MIRRORS ARE CHROME, HEATED & REMOTE-CONTROLLED

EIGHT MATCHING “TOYO” TIRES, WITH AUTOMATIC BALANCING PELLETS, WERE RECENTLY INSTALLED.

AN ELECTRICALLY CONTROLLED SQUIRREL–CAGE FAN, LOCATED IN THE BASEMENT, IS USED TO PRESSURIZE
THE BUS AND ELIMINATE ODOR AND HOT DUSTY AIR, WHICH MAY HAVE ACCUMULATED WHILE THE BUS WAS PARKED. 
THIS ASSISTS THE AIR CONDITIONERS TO GET A HEAD START IN COOLING WHEN FIRST RETURNING TO THE BUS.

AN AGGRESSIVE BRAKE-SHOE-LINER, CALLED ”GREEN GRABBER”, AND MORE-POWERFUL BRAKE—ASSIST- CANS

PAINT/MURALS/PINSTRIPING

GREAT EFFORT WAS TAKEN IN PREPARING THE BUS TO BE PAINTED “BLACK.” All skins & windows were replaced
and any imperfections were meticulously removed. Extremely shiny “Sikkens” paint was applied.

 An Oregon Portrait Painter, hand-painted murals (outdoor scenes with Eagles) on both sides, the rear and above the
windshield of the bus.This took 5 months to complete.

 THE PIN STRIPING WAS HAND-PAINTED BY A RENOWNED CALIFORNIA” SHOW-CAR” ARTIST.

FIVE COATS OF “CLEAR COAT” WERE APPLIED.

AUXILIARY TRANSPORTATION

IN ITS’- LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT, EAGLE’S NEST CARRIES A CUSTOMIZED (ONE-0F-A KIND)1972
“LICENSED STREET-LEGAL” HONDA 600, WHICH HAS BEEN SHORTENED AND CONVERTED INTO A CONVERTIBLE. 
IT IS HOUSED IN ONE OF THE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENTS OF THE
BUS. IT’S INGRESS AND EGRESS IS PROVIDED BY A REMOTELY-CONTROLLED ELECTRICAL WINCH.

PURCHASE PRICE OF THIS ACCESSORY IS $10,000 (IF PURCHASED WITH THE BUS).  OTHERWISE, NOT AVAILABLE.

 EAGLET

EAGLET IS A “MODIFIED” 1972 HONDA 600.  IT IS LICENSED AND “STREET LEGAL”
AND IS" GARAGED” IN THE FORWARD LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT OF THE BUS.  ITS’
INGRESS AND EGRESS ARE VIA A REMOTELY-CONTROLLED ELECTRICALLY OPERATED
WINCH. ($10.000)

There is no rust anywhere on the coach.  All skins were removed down to the frame and any rust
found on the frame was removed & corrected.

 
Torsion bars are also rust-free.  They were professionally encapsulated at Southern Oregon
Diesel in Roseburg, OR.  The Green Grabber Brakes were also installed at that facility.

 
The little Honda car was modified in such a way that the Windshield "plugs in and out."  After it is
removed and stored in a compartment in the automobile bay, the car is driven up on ramps and
attached to a winch, which is remotely controlled.  It just slowly goes into it's garage and is secured
for travel.  You can imagine what kind of crowds that draws!
